Partnership is the theme for February. We explore the ways the aerial hammock becomes a partner assisting in the depth of postures and as a collaborator in fostering an ecology of body and heart awareness. Each program offers a variety of fun ways to explore connection and relationship.

INTRO to Aerial Yoga: Sunrise Salutations

Introducing the language of aerial yoga, we greet the beginning of the day with a practice that builds strength, increases flexibility and opens the doors to play. The hammock is a looped fabric designed as a supportive prop for forward folds, arm balances, deep stretches, elongating the body, opening the heart, and inverting to decompress the spine safely. The hammock becomes the partner that guides you into postures and movement you might have thought impossible. Discovering the Way of the Hammock, brings alternate ways of expressing and experiencing the body-breath-soul connection.

We recommend wearing a t-shirt or long sleeve shirt for ‘hammock’ comfort. No jewelry. Great for beginners and advanced students alike as the hammock makes yoga accessible to everybody and every-body. No aerial experience needed. Ages 12+. Pregnant participants welcome.
