Ski-Down Tribute to 10th Mountain Division Heroes
Join us as we celebrate our 10th Mountain heritage on Friday, February 28 at 1:30 p.m. Watch a special ski-down tribute at Ski Cooper honoring the 10th Mountain Division heroes. These U.S. Army soldiers trained at cold, high Cooper Hill and nearby Camp Hale in the early 1940s, at the Army’s only camp dedicated to training soldiers for winter mountain warfare. The brave ski troopers helped turn the tide of World War II in the mountains of Italy and later returned to launch Colorado’s modern-day ski industry.
A parade of flags carried by skiers will head down the hill at 1:30 p.m. 10th Mountain Division soldiers and descendants will carry the flags. Join veterans and their families in honoring these brave men!
