Saturday, July 30th – Topic – Learn the Real Facts About Baby Doe
Who was the beautiful silver queen who died as a pauper in her cabin? Local historian Mike Miller will help us sort the fact from the fiction surrounding the story of Elizabeth “Baby Doe” Tabor and the silver mining boom and crash.
Event is at Turquoise Lake Maid of Erin day use area, sites 3 and 4. Coming from Leadville on County Road 4, turn right just before the Sugar Loafin’ Dam on County Road 9 and then take the first left turn toward the Matchless Boat Ramp/Silver Dollar Campground. Maid of Erin Day use area turn out is on the left side of the road – program will be held at sites 3 & 4. Don’t forget to bring a chair to sit in. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
