DESCRIPTION:Rhone’s The Downtown Lamplit Haunted History Tour and the Historic Evergreen Cemetery return this summer! Join her for opening weekend June 13th & 14th! \nTour immerse you into early life in the carbonate camp\, while you learn about the town’s paranormal haunts and Leadville’s faded past. \nLeadville by Lamplight Tours was first established by Leadville author and historian Roger Pretti. Having a deep fascination with the paranormal and the history of The Cloud City\, he dedicated his life to researching old newspaper records\, recovering the forgotten tales from Victorian Era Leadville that had been lost to time. His research has been resurrected between the pages of not only his two books\, but also on his guided walking tours of Leadville’s Historic District and Evergreen Cemetery. \nAfter Roger unexpectedly passed away in October 2022\, his only daughter\, Rhone\, took it upon herself to carry on his legacy and the tours. DESCRIPTION:Learn and have fun at the Forest Service talk on “The Land Above the Trees” at the Turquoise Lake Amphitheater \nSaturday\, June 13th 7pm \nJoin local backcountry guide and naturalist\, Tanya\, to learn some fascinating details about the natural history of the Leadville area. She will share about the alpine and subalpine environment\, what is blooming and evening critters you might encounter while in the area and more. \nPark at the Nature Trail Parking area on the left side of the road along the entrance to Molly Brown Campground\, off the Turquoise Lake Loop Road/CO Rd 9.\nWalk up the trail toward the lake and you will find us. \nBring a camp chair or blanket to sit on.\nChildren must come with an adult for these free\, fun programs.\nThe program may be cancelled if there is rain or lightning.
