Dungy is the author of four collections of poetry\, most recently Trophic Cascade\, winner of the Colorado Book Award\, and a Guidebook to Relative Strangers: Journeys into Race\, Motherhood\, and History\, which was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in criticism. She edited Black Nature: Four Centuries of African American Nature Poetry and co-edited the From the Fishouse poetry anthology. Currently\, she is the poetry editor for Orion magazine and hosts Immaterial\, a podcast from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Magnificent Noise. \nA University Distinguished Professor at Colorado State University\, her further honors include the 2021 Academy of American Poets Fellowship\, a 2019 Guggenheim Fellowship\, an American Book Award\, two NAACP Image Award nominations\, and fellowships from the NEA in both prose and poetry. Soil: The Story of a Black Mother’s Garden is her most recent book.

SUMMARY:Pollinator Garden Workshop at Healy House Museum
DESCRIPTION:Come learn about how to select the correct plants to attract pollinators to your garden. We’ll be exploring the pollinator gardens at the Healy House museum and looking at real life examples of what plants will grow in Lake County. \nWe’ll be outside in the Healy House garden\, looking at the pollinator plants in the garden. Please dress for the weather. From their day-to-day lives to their influence\, presenter Julie Blanda will explore the importance of these women and their rightful place in Colorado’s history. \nPlease note: This presentation is PG-13 and is not recommended for young children \nSaturday\, June 20th at 4pm and Friday\, August 7th at 5pm \nHealy House Museum and Dexter’s Cabin \n$10 admission \nGuests are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks to enjoy during the presentation. Coke\, La Croix and water will also be available for purchase in the gift shop. \nThe event will take place in the garden (weather permitting)\, so be sure to dress accordingly.
