DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, September 12 for the opening of 12 Tablecloths Leadville! \nThis is the fourth and final chapter in the groundbreaking series of installations by renowned artist Chloé Duplessis. 12 Tablecloths is a reimagined offering that honors the extraordinary contributions of Black women and the significance of domestic service in Leadville and across the American West during the silver and gold rush era of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. \nThe artist talk will begin at noon\, followed by exhibition opening and reception. Please RSVP in advance. \nIn-person ASL interpretation will be available onsite. \nFood & Drink – Catering by The SoupHug and High Mountain Pies will be available before and after the artist talk\, or feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks to enjoy during the presentation. \nGarden & Weather – The artist talk will take place in the garden (weather permitting)\, so make sure to dress accordingly. \nGarden chairs and benches will be available\, or visitors are welcome to bring their own camp chairs or blankets. \nAbout the Artist \nChloé Duplessis is a legally blind artist\, curator\, and historian committed to creating work that centers equity\, accessibility\, and healing. In doing so\, she seeks to center the importance of shared history and erode the social constructs that oppress people of color and those navigating disability. \nWith over twenty years of experience in intercultural engagement\, arts administration\, and advocacy\, she has traveled to nine countries and 24 states in support of her work. She earned a bachelor’s degree in cultural studies from The University of New Orleans\, and studied art and history at Charles University in Prague\, Czech Republic. \nChloé is the creator of Denver’s first accessible “I VOTED” sticker and co-creator of the noted Holding Hope mural located in downtown Denver. She is also the 2023 recipient of Denver Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Arts and Culture in Equity\, Diversity and Inclusion. Denis was a key Leadville organizer for the memorial\, a Vietnam Veteran and one of the last East Side Irish. The Community is welcome at his memorial Saturday morning to show their support for our friend.\n\n12pm – Practice St Patrick’s Day Parade along historic Harrison Ave starting at 9th street heading south – all are welcome to join in\n\n2pm to 5pm – Gathering at The Old Church\, 801 Harrison Ave\n\n4:30pm – Reading and signing of Molly “MK” Sturdevant’s book “The Sleepers\,” at the Healy House Museum. The book takes place in Leadville during the silver panic of 1893. Molly worked closely on the research and development of both the Healy House’s exhibit Unearthed and the Irish Miners Memorial. The reading and signing will be free and copies of the book available to purchase in the gift shop.\n\n7pm – Young Dubliners concert at the Tabor Opera House\n\n9pm – Meet and Greet at the Silver Dollar Saloon following the performance\n\n10pm – Sing song at The Irish Miners’ Memorial in Evergreen Cemetery\n\nSunday 9/20:\n11am – Convocation and ceremony at The Irish Miners’ Memorial in Evergreen Cemetery.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Irish Weekend launch of Molly Sturdevant’s The Sleepers\, a novel directly tied to the Irish Miners Memorial. \nJoin author Molly Sturdevant for the local launch of her new novel The Sleepers\, which follows small letterpress printer Frances Byrne as she witnesses the fallout of the Silver Panic of 1893 and the hardships it creates for the families of working-class Leadville. \nMolly will give a short reading and discuss her research into the daily lives of working-class families in historic Leadville\, including combing through Pinkerton spy reports written between 1890 and 1910. Attendees are welcome to bring their own books to be signed\, or copies will be available for purchase in the gift shop. \nEntry to this program is free\, but please RSVP to let us know you are planning to attend. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks to enjoy during the presentation. Coke\, La Croix and bottled water will also be available for purchase in the gift shop. \nGarden & Weather \nThe event will take place in our garden (weather permitting)\, so make sure to dress accordingly. \nWe will have garden chairs and benches available\, but visitors are welcome to bring their own camp chairs/blankets as well. \nIn case of inclement weather\, indoor seating will be first come\, first served. \nParking is available in front of the museum on East 10th Street; overflow parking will be available on West 10th Street across Harrison Avenue above Ice Palace Park. \nAbout the Author \nRaised in Colorado in a working class family\, Molly Sturdevant’s sense of place and of economic realities have been at the heart of her prose and poetry since her late teens. Her debut novel features a true story\, researched intensively in mining union archives and built on the ephemera that real people left behind in Colorado libraries\, archives\, and museums. For Molly\, writing historical fiction is nothing short of building a portal into the extraordinary lives of those whom history usually overlooks. \nMolly has been visiting Leadville at least once a year since 2022. She worked closely with Professor Jim Walsh and other project leaders on the creation of the exhibition Unearthed: Voices of Leadville’s Shanty Irish\, displayed at the Healy House Museum & Dexter Cabin September 2023-December 2025\, and the Irish Miners Memorial at Evergreen Cemetery. \nVisit Regal House Publishing to find out more about The Sleepers and Molly Sturdevant.

Guests will then split into teams and investigate throughout the house and cabin\, guided by the experienced all-female team from XX Paranormal Communications. \nWhat happens here may just help answer one of the most common questions we get: Is the house on the hill haunted? \nSpace is limited\, so reserve your tickets early! \n**This event is not recommended for kids under 15. Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.** \nThe event will take place mostly inside\, but the house and cabin can be drafty.
