From their day-to-day lives to their influence\, presenter Julie Blanda will explore the importance of these women and their rightful place in Colorado’s history. \nPlease note: This presentation is PG-13 and is not recommended for young children \nSaturday\, June 20th at 4pm and Friday\, August 7th at 5pm \nHealy House Museum and Dexter’s Cabin \n$10 admission \nGuests are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks to enjoy during the presentation. Coke\, La Croix and water will also be available for purchase in the gift shop. \nThe event will take place in the garden (weather permitting)\, so be sure to dress accordingly. Garden chairs and benches will be available\, but guests are welcome to bring their own camp chairs or blankets.

We’ll be exploring the pollinator gardens at the Healy House museum and looking at real life examples of what plants will grow in Lake County. \nWe’ll be outside in the Healy House garden\, looking at the pollinator plants in the garden. Please dress for the weather. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate the opening of Winter Warriors: The 10th Mountain Division in World War II\, adapted from the History Colorado Center’s 2023-24 exhibit of the same name. \nWinter Warriors: The 10th Mountain Division in World War II explores the history of the US Army’s first winter warfare division from its training at Camp Hale in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains through their crucial breakthrough against the Nazi German Army in the mountains of Italy. \n\n\n\nWinter Warriors introduces a new generation of Coloradans to this incredible story of ingenuity\, perseverance\, heroism\, and sacrifice in a deeply personal way – through photos\, accounts\, videos\, and objects from the soldiers themselves. \nExhibit opening at The Healy House Museum & Dexter’s Cabin on Friday\, May 22nd. The exhibit will be on view here in Leadville through the end of September 2027 before beginning its journey around the state.
