DESCRIPTION:We regret to announce that due to the government shutdown and resulting furlough of key staff at our primary partner agency\, the U.S. Forest Service\, the final Interlaken Post-Fire Volunteer Work Day has been cancelled. Thank you to everyone who signed up for this event and has supported the project over the past year and a half. DESCRIPTION:Arkansas River Collaborative Watershed and GARNA –  Greater Arkansas River Nature Association  are excited to be hosting another educational events!\n\nThe tour will cross the burn area\, so participants should be prepared to get dirty! After the burn area tour\, participants will have the option of continuing the hike to the historic Interlaken Resort site or return to the trailhead. \n\n\nJoin us on a guided tour through the Interlaken Fire burn area to learn how we’re working with partners to protect the Twin Lakes ecosystem from post-fire erosion and flooding. SUMMARY:Pride on the Divide with the CDT - Interlaken Trail
DESCRIPTION:Join CDT Community Ambassador\, Hannah Guilford\, for a hike and trail cleanup in partnership with Friends of Lake County’s Trailhead Steward program on Saturday June 28th from 9am – 12pm. As part of CDTC’s Pride on the Divide events for 2025\, volunteers and program participants at this event will have the opportunity to help protect our public lands just outside the CDT Gateway Communities of Leadville and Twin Lakes. The Continental Divide Trail\, Colorado Trail\, and surrounding landscape suffered significant damage during the Interlaken Fire in June 2024\, and there will be Colorado Trail Foundation crews in the area to working on restoration efforts as well. \nDo not hesitate to reach out and ask questions prior to or after registering for the event. She is an avid long-distance hiker and lover of the Arkansas River Valley. She is the board chair of the Advocates of Lake County in Leadville and facilitates the Chaffee County Youth Alliance in Salida. When she’s not frolicking in the mountains\, you can find her making and eating baked goods\, or with her nose in a book. \nCDTC envisions a more equitable future for open lands: one in which all people are able to enjoy all the benefits of the Continental Divide landscape. Pride on the Divide recognizes that Lesbian\, Gay\, Bisexual\, Transgender\, Intersex\, Asexual\, Two Spirit\, and other members of the LGBTQIA2S+ Community are an integral part of the past\, present\, and future of the CDT community.
