SUMMARY:Friedl documentary film at Tabor Opera House
DESCRIPTION:Professional skier and filmmaker Chris Anthony brings to the screen the extraordinary life journey of Austrian Skiing Champion\, WW2 Veteran\, and founder of  Aspen Ski Corporation\, Friedl Pfeifer. \nWhile researching material for a sequel to his still-touring\, award-winning documentary “Mission Mt. Mangart\,” which tells the story of the 10th Mountain Division from 1939 to June 3\, 1945\, Chris Anthony encountered the name Friedl Pfeifer while in Austria\, digging through skiing archives. Recognizing Pfeifer only from his statue at the base of Aspen Mountain in Colorado\, Chris’s curiosity led him to explore Friedl’s remarkable story and the connection between the Arlberg Region\, Sun Valley\, Idaho\, Colorado\, and the 10th Mountain Division. \nFriedl Pfeifer was born and raised on a farm in St. Anton\, Austria\, and grew to be one of Austria’s top alpine ski racers\, winning many classic events\, including the legendary Grossglockner. Mentored by the iconic Hannes Schneider\, Friedl’s life changed dramatically after Schneider’s arrest by the Nazis. This compelled Friedl to flee Austria\, beginning an incredible journey: through Italy\, by ship to Australia\, then to New York City\, and by train to Sun Valley\, Idaho. There\, after meeting his wife\, Friedl was temporarily arrested by the FBI and interned. Upon release\, he became an instructor with the 10th Mountain Division and served on the front lines of Italy during WWII. Left for dead on the battlefield\, he barely survived\, returned to the United States\, and eventually founded Aspen Ski Corporation. \nChris Anthony has retraced Pfeifer’s path\, inspiring his documentary to highlight not only Friedl’s story but also the world from the 1920s through the 1950s. Anthony creates these films through his Youth Foundation to educate and inspire youth\, while raising funds to enable underserved individuals to experience skiing for the first time. \nSome of the proceeds of “FRIEDL” will also kick back to support the Colorado Snowsports Museum. \n“FRIEDL”. The story of Friedl Pfeifer \nRunning time: 53 minutes (with Q&A with the filmmaker to follow) \nAll Ages $21 adults\, $11 Veterans/Active Duty\, $11 youth 11-18 years old\, under 10 free – CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE TICKETS \nDoors at 6:30 / Film at 7:00

Vail 2026 Chamber Musicians in Residence)\nJason Neukom\, violin\nAndrew Giordano\, violin\nSean Neukom\, viola\nRyan Ash\, cello \nGESULADO\, arr. Jason Neukom O vos omnes \nPHILIP GLASS String Quartet No 3\, Mishima\nBEETHOVEN String Quartet No. 9 in C major\, Op. 59\, No. 3 \nAbout The Beo String Quartet\nWith 65 world premieres to its credit and 150 concert works played throughout the United States\, South America\, and Europe\, the iconoclastic Beo String Quartet does what it loves best: playing classical repertoire\, contemporary\, rock\, and experimental music. From the Latin “to make happy\,” Beo started out as a lark. Two Mexican-American brothers\, Jason Neukom and Sean Neukom\, decided to record a song entitled “Happy\, Happy\,” composed by Sean\, but for that they would need two more players. And so in 2015 the Beo String Quartet was formed. Touring the world\, composing\, performing\, recording\, teaching\, and having fun\, Beo has since then founded Beo Publishing\, built a recording studio\, and started its own recording label\, NeuKraft Records. \nSunday\, July 19th Tabor Opera House 2pm \nCommunity Concerts are free but require a reservation.

SUMMARY:Young Dubliners live at Tabor Opera House
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1988\, The Young Dubliners’ raucous live shows earned them comparisons to The Pogues and The Levellers early in their career\, a reputation they’ve cemented in the ensuing decades. Although the Young Dubliners sound is most commonly called ‘Celtic Rock’\, that label can often be misleading. The Irish influence is certainly there\, but it’s not the only influence that bursts through on their albums or live shows. The band is Keith Roberts (vocals / guitar)\, Chas Waltz (Violin\, keys\, vocals)\, Justin Pecot (guitar\, vocals)\, Dave Ingraham (drums) and Ethan Jones (bass guitar). The Young Dubliners have released nine albums to date. In recent years the Young Dubs have appeared twice on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live\, had songs featured in TV shows (Sons Of Anarchy\, Human Target) and toured extensively as a headliner and as the opener for such a diverse list of artists as Collective Soul\, Jethro Tull\, Johnny Lang\, Los Lobos\, Chris Isaak and many more. \nAll Ages\n$50 General Admission \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT LEADVILLE’S IRISH WEEKEND & IRISH HISTORY

SUMMARY:Author Rebecca Rosenberg reading at Tabor Opera House
DESCRIPTION:Rosenberg’s Colorado Book Tour will unearth fascinating truths and challenging popular beliefs about these legendary women during a series of statewide events. \n“For too long\, Silver Dollar Tabor has been dismissed by history as a ‘floozy\, drunkard\, and drug user’\,” says Rosenberg. “My novel\, Silver Echoes\, pulls back the curtain on the real woman: a multifaceted and deeply tragic individual shaped by her extraordinary circumstances\, not simply defined by harsh labels.” \nRosenberg’s meticulous research uncovers a different Silver Dollar\, suggesting she struggled with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). This groundbreaking reinterpretation transforms a scandalous story into one of profound human resilience and tragedy. Drawing upon extensive research\, including Silver Dollar’s personal letters to her mother\, Baby Doe Tabor\, “Silver Echoes” applies a modern psychological lens to her life. Beyond sensational headlines\, the novel uncovers Silver Dollar’s often overlooked talents as a writer\, silent movie actress\, and burlesque and vaudeville performer from Colorado to Chicago. \nClick here to learn more about Rebecca Rosenberg \nAges 13+\nDoors at 3:45 PM
