DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1988\, The Young Dubliners’ raucous live shows earned them comparisons to The Pogues and The Levellers early in their career\, a reputation they’ve cemented in the ensuing decades. Although the Young Dubliners sound is most commonly called ‘Celtic Rock’\, that label can often be misleading. The Irish influence is certainly there\, but it’s not the only influence that bursts through on their albums or live shows. The band is Keith Roberts (vocals / guitar)\, Chas Waltz (Violin\, keys\, vocals)\, Justin Pecot (guitar\, vocals)\, Dave Ingraham (drums) and Ethan Jones (bass guitar). The Young Dubliners have released nine albums to date. This event isn’t just a performance—it’s a statement: Queer people have always existed\, and we’ve always belonged in the heart of Colorado’s high country. \nBuilt in 1879\, the Tabor Opera House has long been a beacon of culture and expression. Its rich history includes a visit in 1882 from none other than Oscar Wilde\, the legendary playwright\, wit\, and queer icon\, who lectured on art and aesthetics during his American tour. Wilde’s presence in Leadville over a century ago reminds us that even in the wild days of the mining boom\, queer voices found a stage—and now\, they’re taking it back. \nCome celebrate\, honor our shared history\, and witness the fierce beauty of drag in a space where the past meets the unapologetically queer present. \nAll are welcome.
