Independence Day!

Leadville celebrates July 4th with small-town charm! Join us for these annual events, held on the 4th each year and keep an eye on our calendar for other great local business events in the area surrounding the holiday.

FIRECRACKER FUN RUN

8:30 a.m. – A Firecracker 5k fun run kicks off the morning. Meet at the corner of Harrison Avenue and 5th Street.

JULY 4TH PARADE

10 a.m. – Enjoy an old-fashioned parade along Harrison Avenue, Leadville’s main street. Cool floats, local bands, burros, Victorian costumes, and much more!

ANNUAL 4TH OF JULY AIRPORT COOKOUT

11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – You’ll be ready for lunch after the morning’s activities. Join us for a picnic and planes at the Annual 4th of July Airport Cookout. Fly in or drive in to North America’s highest-elevation airport! Enjoy root beer floats, hot dogs, and burgers.

LIONS CLUB FIREWORKS DISPLAY

Dusk – Fireworks glow against the backdrop of Colorado’s highest peaks! The local Lions Club puts on the fireworks display from the top of Dutch Henry Hill (near Colorado Mountain College). Fireworks display is dependent on conditions and area fire bans.
