The Denver-based indie/alt foursome, including Twin Lakes own TJ Wethington, bring just the right sound to inspire runners and fans for this weekend’s Race Across The Sky (aka Leadville 100 Run). Come join TJ, with bandmates Chris Herr, Brennan McLaren and Alex Hartman, at the Twin Lakes Inn.

Indy Pass Pies and Eat At Punkys have prepared special food and beverage options for the cheering fans and hard-working race crews.

If you’ve never witnessed this event, Twin Lakes is a favorite fan viewing area because of where our historic village is located on the course. This portion of the course, which is at about 40 miles on the outbound and 64 miles on the inbound is where runners begin and end not one but TWO climbs over 12,500′ Hope Pass. Whew! Plus, Twin Lakes is one of the best spots to watch the bulk of competitors to weave their way back from completing Hope Pass in the dark with their headlamps letting you follow their progress. Outbound runners have to reach Twin Lakes aid station by 2:15 Saturday afternoon (just after the music ends) and must return on the inbound leg by 11 PM.

Are you traveling through Twin Lakes this weekend? Please be advised that traffic will frequently be halted to yield to runners as they cross Hwy 82 and follow the race course between the Twin Lakes General Store and the Twin Lakes Inn. Visitors should also be aware that parking is strictly controlled for the entire village until after the last runners reach Twin Lakes very late on Saturday night. Sure, our quiet outpost won’t be as quiet this weekend but you’re sure to enjoy being part of this annual ultra-event celebration.
