Water, Waste Disposal and Recycling
Let’s Keep Leadville-Twin Lakes clean with proper waste disposal!
In rural communities, water can be limited and trash removal costly. Please be aware, understanding and follow protocol and pay fees for usage when required.
In the paid USFS Campgrounds and day use areas have trash and pit toilets are provided for the fee paid. Many campgrounds do not have potable water access.
Be prepared to pay for trash disposal and remember that private dumpsters are not for public use, businesses have to pay for trash removal and having recreation users fill their dumpsters every weekend gets expensive quickly. The easiest way to dispose of your waste is by purchasing a pre-paid Lake County yellow trash bag and separate out your recycling to dispose of at public drop sites.
