Bluebird Days & Final Runs

April 29, 2025

Closing Turns: Ski Season in Leadville

As the season shifts and winter begins its retreat, Leadville comes alive in a different way. Goggle tans tell the story of days well spent, and while Ski Cooper has wrapped for the season, the spirit of those final turns lingers. Just down the road, under 30 minutes, Copper Mountain keeps the celebration going with sunny skies, soft snow, and a full lineup of spring events.

Copper Mountain: High-Energy Spring Celebrations

A short drive over Fremont Pass, Copper Mountain knows how to throw a party to mark the season’s end.

Skimmy Dippers Dual Pond Skim

Date & Time: Sunday, April 26, 2026
Get ready for the Skimmy Dippers Dual Pond Skim, where teams of two will drop in simultaneously on side-by-side pond skim courses like you’ve never seen before.  We’re talking a 60-foot rail and other jump features combined with a skim across ice-cold water, here — you don’t want to miss it. Teams will be judged on style, technique, creativity and difficulty as they attempt to skim their way across the water.

The top team will earn two Copper season passes for the 2026-27 season! Additional awards will be given to second and third place, plus Best Costume and Best Trick. All prizes are valid for the 2026-27 season..
