Stop by the Leadville Visitor Center on Wednesday, July 23rd between 6pm and 7pm to learn more about the Dark Sky Steering Committee. All are welcome!
What We’re Doing:
We’re forming a community-led steering committee to guide efforts toward: Dark Sky Community designation, Educating residents and businesses on responsible outdoor lighting, Supporting policies that preserve our natural nightscape
What You’ll Do:
Attend regular planning meetings, Help with outreach, events, and advocacy, Collaborate with local leaders and residents, Shape the future of nighttime in Lake Co.
Why It Matters:
Excessive light pollution dims our stars, disrupts ecosystems, wastes energy, and impacts human health. Leadville is one of the best places to protect high altitude living with dark skies
