It’s fall, y’all, and Leadville-Twin Lakes, Colorado, is celebrating autumn with lots of fun events. Come join our Halloween and Dia de Los Muertos events, Oktoberfests, and live music!

Fall-Themed Events

Ghost and Cemetery Tours

Friday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 12

Just in time for Halloween, learn about Leadville’s spectral side and ghostly history. Join Rhone Pretti for a ghost tour at 3 pm and a cemetery tour at 6 pm each day. Visit Instagram @leadville_by_lamplight_tours on Instagram or contact Rhone to book at 719-470-9272.

“Swim into Fall” Octoberfest with Pb Swims

Saturday, Oct. 12

Silent auction, 3-7 p.m.; dinner available from 5-7 p.m.

Elks Lodge, 123 W. 5th Street, Leadville

Bring your own carved pumpkin for a Jack-o-Lantern contest! Enjoy live music, a silent auction, a dessert contest, and the opportunity to buy a German-themed dinner at this fundraiser for Pb Swims.

Oktoberfest on the Leadville Railroad

Saturdays and Sundays in October

2 p.m.

Leadville Railroad Depot, 326 E. 7th St., Leadville

Enjoy a fun-filled 2.5 hour scenic train trip with delicious seasonal libations, including local beers, hot cocoa, and hot apple cider. You’ll also enjoy captivating conductor commentary on Leadville’s colorful history and panoramic views of the upper Arkansas River Valley and two of Colorado’s tallest peaks. Great for families, and dogs are welcome.

Dia de Los Muertos Pumpkin Patch

Saturday, October 12

11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Huck Finn Ice Rink, 445 Maple St., Leadville

Have a spook-tacular time at the Get Outdoors Leadville! annual Dia de Los Muertos Pumpkin Patch. Enjoy a parade and costume contest (1 p.m.), a pumpkin patch, and fun activities. We invite you to bring a photo or offering to contribute to our community Dia de Los Muertos altar, remembering a loved one. Continue the celebration with Mariachi Los Correcaminos De MSU Denver Band, playing at the Tabor Opera House starting at 7 p.m.!

Murder Mystery Dinner Train Ride

Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19

5:15 p.m.

Leadville Railroad Depot, 326 E. 7th St., Leadville

All aboard for a night of mystery and suspense on the Leadville Railroad! It’s A Matchless Murder, where you become part of the action. Solve the crime, enjoy a delicious three-course dinner prepared by Treeline Kitchen, and uncover hidden secrets—all while riding through the breathtaking Colorado Rockies. Will you crack the case… or become the next suspect? Tickets are limited, so don’t miss this unforgettable evening of fun, food, and intrigue.

Wear your best costume to our costume contest! Get ready for a spooky Halloween dance party with DJ Grey Forest. Ages 21 and up.

Trick or Treat on Main Street

Saturday, Oct. 27

1 – 3 p.m.

Harrison Avenue, Downtown Leadville

Join the locals for this annual Halloween tradition, a trick or treat street on Leadville’s historic main street.

Line Dancing at FREIGHT

Friday, Oct. 11

6 – 9 p.m.

FREIGHT, 320 E. 9th St., Leadville

Join us for an evening of line dancing lessons and free family-friendly activities, including a photo booth, face paint, and hair tinsel. Local food and drink will be available for purchase. Kristin Helser, previously the President of the Line Dance Club at Colorado Mountain College, will lead beginner and advanced lessons, leaving you plenty of time to show off your moves. A portion of ticket sales will benefit Broken Arrows 4-H Club – Leadville.

Experience the vibrant and soulful sounds of traditional Mexican music with the Denver University Mariachi Band, with 14 musicians bringing energy and talent to a heartfelt performance on the Tabor stage. Join us at the Tabor, and be sure to check out our sister opera houses on the Colorado Historic Opera Houses Circuit.
