These numerous backcountry huts in the Colorado Rocky Mountains are connected by 350 miles of suggested routes. They provide a unique opportunity for backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, or hiking while staying in secure, comfortable shelter. All huts are unique, check the website to learn more about the size and amenities for each. Many people gather groups of friends and family to share the experience together.

The 10th Mountain Division Hut Association is a nonprofit that manages the hut system. The name honors the men of 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army, who trained during World War II at Camp Hale, near Ski Cooper. Hut visitors share the special spirit of these individuals, especially their pursuit of excellence, self -reliance, and love of the outdoors.

Reservations are needed. Huts are managed by the 10th Mountain Division Hut Association
