On Racial Equality And Human Justice

June 7, 2020

In response to George Floyd’s death and protests, the Lake County Tourism Panel would like to share our thoughts on the way forward.

At Leadville and Twin Lakes, Colorado, we join the nation in calling for change. For racial equality and human justice. Yes, Black Lives Matter.

Just as travel encourages new experiences and stepping outside comfort zones, we encourage the honest conversations happening in communities throughout the nation, as in ours. Even when these conversations are painful, they are a critical step to moving forward.

By listening to those whose voices have been silenced for far too long, sharing experiences, and learning from each other we can begin to build a shared future and a better world.

The Lake County Tourism Panel is committed to fostering a culture of change in which open mindedness, compassion, racial equality, and human justice are highly valued within our community, to make our home a better place to live and visit.
