Bike Your Park Day Travels the Stage & Rail Historic Route Through Leadville
The Stage and Rail Historic Route, an initiative of the Greater Arkansas River Nature Association, is teaming up with Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area and Cloud City Wheelers to celebrate Bike Your Park Day on October 4 with a guided bike ride on the Stage and Rail Historic Route.
The route will highlight some of the newest dedicated sections in Lake County, traveling from Ice Palace Park in Leadville to the Hayden Meadows Recreation Area utilizing bike paths, county roads and forest service roads. The route is 17 miles, and has some elevation gain. A shuttle will be arranged by the Cloud City Wheelers for the return trip from Hayden Meadows to Ice Palace Park.

National Bike Your Park Day is an initiative of Adventure Cycling Association and National Public Lands Day. The Stage and Rail Trail is a route in development from Salida to Leadville, CO following the historic stagecoach road and railroad corridors. The route parallels the Arkansas River and traverses 70 miles of stunning landscapes in central Colorado.
