Learn and have fun at the Forest Service talk on “Archaeology in the Upper Arkansas River Valley” at the Turquoise Lake Amphitheater
Saturday, June 28th 7:00 p.m.
Join Megan Caveney from the Forest Service to learn about prehistory and history in the Upper Arkansas River Valley and why its preservation is important. See examples of local artifacts to learn how archaeologists make inferences about the past using the cultural material that remains.
Meet at the Nature Trail Parking area on the left side of the road along the entrance to Molly Brown Campground, off the Turquoise Lake Loop Road/CO Rd 9.
Our Forest Service staff will escort you to the new site.
Bring a camp chair or blanket to sit on.
Children must come with an adult for these free, fun programs.
The program may be cancelled if there is rain or lightning.
