Have A Working Vacation You’ll Enjoy – In Leadville

August 28, 2018

Ready for a vacation, but need to keep in touch with the office? Two new amenities in Leadville, Colorado, make a working vacation a little easier. Enjoy a scenic new co-working space and access reliable Internet. When you’re off the clock, unplug with a full array of outdoor adventurehistorical sites, and jaw-dropping scenery.

WORK WITH A VIEW

Now you can work on a rooftop with a drink and a bird’s-eye view of Mt. Elbert, thanks to The Workspace @Treeline.

A popular Leadville dinner spot, Treeline Kitchen, joins a national trend by opening its space to daytime coworkers. On weekdays, it offers a quiet place to connect to Wi-Fi, hold meetings, or spread out and focus outside of your hotel room or vacation home.

At The Workspace @Treeline, you can grab a table in the dining room, rooftop, or patio, all with wireless connections. Work with a view of Colorado’s two highest peaks, 14ers Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive, or of Leadville’s National Historic Landmark District. Enjoy delicious light fare for breakfast or lunch. The bar will be open all day to keep you hydrated—or even relaxed with an adult beverage. Just remember to sound serious when your boss calls.

Private meeting space is available for rent by the hour. Workspace hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with drop-in and monthly memberships.

CONNECT TO THE NEW, ALWAYS-ON PUBLIC WI-FI

Need a brief check-in from a sidewalk table or bench? Grab a coffee and a snack and access the new high-speed public Wi-Fi in downtown Leadville. The Wi-Fi is available outside, along Harrison Avenue. It’s an additional option to the public Wi-Fi already offered in Leadville businesses.

When making your meeting or deadline is critical, the new Wi-Fi has your back. This Wi-Fi is redundant and will stay up even if other phone and cable networks are down, giving you extra peace of mind when you’re away from your team. Look for “Leadville-Lake County Public Wi-Fi” on your device to connect.

The new network, launched in August 2018, is connected to both the Mammoth and CenturyLink fiber-optic networks and has already been tested for potential outages. A partnership between the Leadville Lake County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and Lake County Government brought about these capabilities—to make it even easier for you to extend your stay in Leadville.

FULLY UNPLUG AFTER HOURS

On your lunch break, you can easily walk to history sites and tours or unwind along the Mineral Belt Trail, just minutes from downtown

When your workday is done, there’s no stressful commute. Miles of forests and mountains are right outside your door, waiting for you to come bike, hike, fish, golf, paddle, and much, much more. (Choose from our long list of outdoor activities.)

Long day? Visit Periodic Brewery, North America’s highest microbrewery, or another downtown bar or saloon for happy hour. Kick back at one of the area’s many tasty restaurants, watch the sun set over the Rockies, or take in a performance at the Tabor Opera House. You’ll have so much to enjoy that you’ll almost forget about the office–for the most relaxing working vacation you’ve ever had.
