NO SNOW? NO PROBLEM. YOUR SPRING BREAK ADVENTURE STARTS HERE

March 25, 2026

Spring break has arrived in the high country, and while March didn’t quite deliver its usual blanket of snow, something else has taken its place: wind in your hair adventures, bluebird skies, and the perfect excuse to experience Leadville and Twin Lakes in a whole new way.

Sure, winter looks a little different this year, but adventure? That’s still in full supply.

Trade Powder Days for Peak Experiences

Who says you need fresh snow to have an unforgettable mountain getaway? This spring, the focus shifts from powder to possibility.

Feel your heart race as you soar high above the Arkansas River Valley with Top of the Rockies Zipline. It’s the perfect way to take in those sweeping alpine views.

Leadville ATV

Prefer horsepower to harnesses? Leadville ATV Tours offers rugged backcountry excursions that get you deep into Colorado’s historic mining terrain, no snow required.

Leadville Railroad

For something a little more relaxed (but just as scenic), hop aboard the Leadville Railroad. This iconic ride winds through forests, alongside rivers, and into the rich history of the Rockies—making it a must-do whether the ground is white or not.

Step Back In Time

Weather not cooperating? Head inside, way inside, at the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum. Their immersive exhibits and replica mines give you a hands-on look at the grit and grind that built this town.

Then step back above ground and into the past with a self-guided stroll through downtown. The Historic Walking Tour of Downtown Leadville reveals Victorian buildings, legendary saloons, and stories from Colorado’s silver boom days.

While you’re exploring, make time to visit Temple Israel, a beautifully preserved synagogue and museum that offers a unique glimpse into Leadville’s diverse cultural history.

Trails Without Snow? Even Better.

With lower snowpack, many local trails are opening earlier than usual, perfect for hiking or fat biking adventures. Local outfitters like Cycles of Life, Leadvelo Bicicasa and Leadville Outdoors can get you geared up and pointed in the right direction.

And if you’re craving peaceful alpine views, the shores around Twin Lakes offer stunning, snow-dusted mountain reflections without the need for snowshoes.

Two Mile Brewing

Refuel, Recharge, Repeat

Of course, no spring break adventure is complete without great food and local flavor. Grab a hearty breakfast or a well-earned lunch at City on a Hill Coffee & Espresso, where strong coffee meets stronger community vibes.

For something more filling, Tennessee Pass Cafe serves up comfort food favorites with a laid-back mountain-town feel. And if you’re winding down after a day of exploring, a stop at Two Mile Brewing Company is always a good idea.

Snow or No Snow, This Is Your Moment

This March and April may not look like winters past, but that just means fewer expectations and more room for discovery. Whether you’re flying through the trees, cruising historic rails, exploring underground tunnels, or simply soaking in the views, Leadville and Twin Lakes are proving one thing:

Adventure doesn’t depend on snow – it depends on showing up.

So this is your sign. Get out, explore, and make this spring break one for the books.
