Why It’s a Gem

The trail in it’s entirety crosses several different landscapes from high ridgelines to dense forest and wetland creek crossings. It travels through the east end of the historic Camp Hale National Monument, along old railbeds and views of Mount of the Holy Cross.

Don’t be intimidated by the trail distance if you aren’t looking to “thru-hike”, choose sections for an out and back hike starting a top Tennessee Pass or through Camp Hale to experience the beauty of the trail without the distance.
